HCOS Student Awards

HCOS Students have the opportunity to be recognized each year, based upon three distinct awards. These awards derive from our Learner Profile and touch upon our Head, Heart and Hands Model.

HCOS Honour Roll (9-12)

 

HCOS Character Award (K-12)

This award recognizes students who consistently demonstrate the qualities outlined in our Learner Profile. Each year, teachers will have the opportunity to nominate students for our HCOS Character Award. This award is designed to recognize students who consistently demonstrate qualities outlined in our Learner Profile.   

HCOS Service Award (K-12)

This award recognizes students who actively serve within their community. Students can apply for this award each year by completing the Service Award Form

Requirements:

Students must show evidence of a commitment to serving their community. The service must be practical and require an investment of time, without pay. The service must be outside of school-related activities. 

Students in GradesMinimum Required Hours:
K-610 hours
7-1220 hours

Some suggested areas of service are (but not limited to):

  • Conservation/environment projects
  • Volunteer work for a non-profit organization
  • Serving at  Church 
  • Helping your Neighbours
