Non-Restricted Funding: Resources and Programs provided by HCOS (Internal)

  • HCOS Learning Camps 
  • HCOS Community Connections
  • HCOS Learning Group Co-ops
  • HCOS Computer/iPad lease
  • HCOS Online Courses
  • Textbooks
  • DVDs
  • Physical, literary books and novels (no activities or stickers)

    NOTE: non-restricted items are "non-consumable" in your Encom curriculum budget
    NOTE: non-restricted items either need to be returned to the school or bought out (see Curriculum Agreement below)

Restricted Funding ($600 limit): Resources and Programs provided by 3rd Party providers (External to HCOS) 

  • Classes, activities & lessons that are not part of HCOS
  • Consumable curriculum
  • Workbooks
  • Educational subscriptions
  • Digital items
  • Items with pieces, such as games, flashcards, kits, etc... 
  • Packages with one price that include both a book and a workbook (as we do not know the cost individually, this purchase would use restricted funds)
  • Items not covered in the HCOS Curriculum Agreement; such as consumable items, items that are in pieces and unlikely to be returned in their entirety (such as games, flashcards, kits), lessons and activities, workbooks, subscriptions, 3rd party courses, digital items, etc...
  • Items using restricted funds are entered into ENCOM as consumable
  • Resources entered into ENCOM as consumable do not need to be returned to the school or bought out as per the terms of the Curriculum Agreement

 

Curriculum on Loan Agreement: Agreement between HCOS and parent/guardian - Signed by all parents/guardians during enrollment

  • Parents agree that all curriculum purchased and paid for by HCOS is on loan and the property of HCOS for three years, along with the following conditions:
      • pay the school the cost minus depreciation thereby making this agreement void OR
      • Return the curriculum (minus consumable items) immediately to the school.
    • If the family ceases to be enrolled with HCOS at any time during those three years the family will either:
    • If my family ceases to be enrolled at HCOS any time during the school year, the curriculum budget allotted to my student(s) will be prorated based on the number of months my student has been enrolled.
    • At the end of three years the curriculum can be purchased from HCOS for the sum of $10 (ten) dollars (payable via family funds only), or returned to the school (not including items listed as consumable)
