# What in the World?

What in the World? (Grades 5-10) is a current events resource that enhances understanding of current Canadian and international events. The magazine is published eight times a year from September to May. Each issue includes:

- Four news articles
- Relevant background information to enhance understanding of each event or issue
- On-the-line, between-the-line, and beyond-the-line questions
- Assignment to analyze a political cartoon and examine a news photo
- Crossword and quizzes

#### Magazine Formats

Magazines are available in two formats: .pdf and .docx.

- The .pdf file contains the complete document and cannot be changed. It has helpful information for parents and **answer keys** at the bottom of the document.
- The .docx file contains only the articles and questions. Students can complete assignments directly in the .docx document using Microsoft Word or Google Docs.
- The Maps PDF is printable and coordinates with the stories found in the magazines. Answer keys are included in this document.
