What in the World?

What in the World? (Grades 5-10) is a current events resource that enhances understanding of current Canadian and international events. The magazine is published eight times a year from September to May. Each issue includes:

• Four news articles

• Relevant background information to enhance understanding of each event or issue

• On-the-line, between-the-line, and beyond-the-line questions

• Assignment to analyze a political cartoon and examine a news photo
  

• Crossword and quizzes

Magazine Formats

Magazines are available in two formats: .pdf and .docx.

• The .pdf file contains the complete document and cannot be changed. It has helpful information for parents and answer keys at the bottom of the document.
• The .docx file contains only the articles and questions. Students can complete assignments directly in the .docx document using Microsoft Word or Google Docs. 
• The Maps PDF is printable and coordinates with the stories found in the magazines. Answer keys are included in this document.

Les Plan strongly recommends that you save the PDF file to your hard drive before opening and printing it.
